CM Vijay Reiterates Opposition to NEET

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay strongly reiterated Tamil Nadu’s long-standing opposition to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) during his speech in the Assembly. He argued that the examination continues to disadvantage many Tamil Nadu students, particularly those from rural and government-school backgrounds. Vijay emphasized that access to medical education should be based on social justice and equal opportunity rather than a centralized examination system.

Two-Language Policy to Continue

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that Tamil Nadu will continue to follow its two-language policy. He stated that the state would protect its linguistic identity and resist any attempt to impose a third language. Vijay said the government remains committed to safeguarding Tamil language and culture while ensuring quality education for students.

 

Vijay Launches Strong Attack on DMK

During his nearly hour-long reply to the debate on the Governor’s Address, Vijay sharply criticized the opposition DMK.He accused the previous government of administrative failures and corruption, while defending his own government’s performance. He appealed to the public to give his administration more time to implement reforms and fulfill election promises.

Assembly Witnesses Heated Confrontation

The Assembly witnessed dramatic scenes after Vijay’s remarks against the DMK. The situation escalated when he mocked and criticized opposition leaders, leading to strong protests from DMK legislators. The tense exchanges disrupted proceedings and turned the session into one of the most contentious debates since the formation of the new government.

Opposition Stages Walkout

Following the heated confrontation, opposition members walked out of the Assembly in protest. DMK legislators accused the Chief Minister of lowering the dignity of the House and objected to several of his remarks. The walkout highlighted the growing political rivalry between the ruling government and the opposition.

 Vijay Rejects ‘Actor’s Party’ Criticism

Addressing criticism directed at his party, Vijay rejected claims that the ruling party is merely an “actor’s party.” He stated that the party’s rise was built on years of public engagement, social service, and political activism. He highlighted the government’s efforts to address public issues and stressed that his administration is focused on governance rather than political branding.

The Chief Minister also spoke about social justice, state rights, law and order, power supply, and welfare initiatives. He defended the government’s approach to governance and promised stronger action on issues affecting the people of Tamil Nadu. Vijay said his administration remains committed to transparency, accountability, and long-term development of the state.
